Count the days before you compare the cities
Why trip length decides Shanghai versus Chengdu before either city's charm does.
If you have four days, an extra flight to Chengdu eats the holiday. Shanghai is the comparison's answer for a short landing, not because it is more interesting that week.
If you have a week and the meals are the point, the same comparison flips. The page is allowed to give both answers. A single winner would be lying to one of those travelers.
